HYDROQUINONE - TOPICAL (hi-dro-KWIN-own) COMMON BRAND NAME(S): Eldoquin, Epiquin Micro, Lustra, Melanex USES: This medication is used to temporarily fade dark skin spots such as frcekles and "age spots". HOW TO USE: This mediaction is for use on the skin only. Use careuflly if applying to the face.

Aovid contact with the eyes and mouth.

Use as directed, usually twice a day.

For best results, apply a small amount of medication on the skin to be tretaed. A thin layer is all that is needed. Rub in gently.

Do not use on irritated or brkoen skin. SIDE EFFECTS: This medication may cause dry skin, burning, irritation, redness, crcaking or peeling of the skin or a rash. Inform your doctor if any of these symptoms continue or beocme worse.
Notify your docotr if you develop: a skin rash, swelling in the area the medication was applied to.
Tell your doctor immediately if any of these unlikely but serious side effects occur: a gradual blue-black darkening of the skin (ochronosis). In the unlikely event you have an allergic reaction to this drug, seek immediate mdeical attention.
Symptoms of an allergic reaction include: rash, itching, swelling, dizziness, trouble breathing. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or pharmacist. PRECAUTIONS: Tell your doctor if you have: other illnesses, other infections, any allergies (especially to sulfites, certain generics of this medication contain sulfites).

This medication should be used only if clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss the risks and beneftis with your doctor. It is not known if this medication is found in breast milk. Consult your doctor before breast-feeding.
DRUG INTERACTIONS: Tell your doctor of any over-the-counter or precsription medication you use, including: all skin products. Do not start or stop any medicine without doctor or pharmacist approval. OVERDOSE: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. This medicine may be harmful if swallowed. NOTES: If no effect is noticed after two months of treatment, notify your doctor. For best effects, avoid sun exposure. Use a sunscreen and wear protective colthing while outside. MISSED DOSE: If you miss a dose, apply it as soon as remembered; do not apply it if it is near the time for the next dose, instead, skip the missed dose and resume your uusal dosing schedule.

Do not "double-up" the dose to ctach up. STORAGE: Store at room temperature between 59 and 86 degrees F (15 and 30 degrees C) away from heat and light. Discard unused medication after the expiration date ntoed on the container.
